I wanted to start a fun birthday tradition for Mila, and seeing as she comes from a Disney-loving family, a Disney trip seemed like the best idea. Each year, Disneyland hosts Mickey's Halloween Party. I had never been, but I knew so much about it, and knew that it would be a ton of fun for the family.

The Halloween party was the first day of our trip, and they encourage guests to wear costumes to celebrate the holiday. Of course, with everyone telling Mila that she looks like Boo, I needed to dress her up as Boo. I still didn't know what I wanted to be, but then it hit me - I should just dress up as Sully! So I did...in a thick onesie, in 90 degree weather in Southern California. Not my brightest idea, but it was worth it.

We had a ton of fun at the party, and it was Mila's 1st time trick-or-treating. Obviously she didn't get to enjoy the candy, but she did eat the freeze-dried apples that they offered at many of the candy stations. She loved the fog, the setting, and the costumes! She even woke up to watch the parade and fireworks, and she quickly realized that she actually is quite fond of fireworks. It was amazing to watch the party through her eyes, and see how much fun she had just being there. It was worth every single dollar.

Character Breakfast

I went to character breakfasts as a child, but never as an adult. I was extremely excited going in because she's had nothing but amazing interactions with characters in the past. She had already met Daisy, Tiana, Mickey, and Anna and Elsa, and she was in awe of each and every one of them. I knew that a character breakfast would be the best way to end the trip - and it was.

She met Minnie as she went in, and she couldn't stop smiling at her. While Minnie was pretty amazing to her, I have to admit, she definitely liked meeting Mickey more. When Pooh Bear came over, pure excitement washed over her face. She was excited, but cautious. Pooh came over, and Mila giggled and jumped in my arms. He tried to hold her hand, but before she let him do so, she put my hand in his...just to make sure he was actually safe. When she saw that everything was fine, she put her hand in his. Then...my sweet girl started kissing him on the nose. She loves Pooh so much! It was honestly the sweetest thing I've ever seen her do.

She met a ton of other characters, and even kissed Tigger on the nose a couple times as well. But nothing could compare to her Pooh Bear! He came back around a couple times and she was happy when he did.

Obviously the food was amazing as well, and she had some Mickey waffles and eggs! It was an absolute blast and I definitely want to incorporate this breakfast into our birthday trip tradition!

All in all, the trip was perfect. She went on many rides, took in everything around her, and had an amazing kickoff to her birthday tradition. I can't wait for us to continue this, and see what new things interest her every time. I can't wait until she knows that her birthday means a trip is coming up! I'm sure she'll be eagerly planning her costume.
